Two people have lost their lives and at least 38 have been injured following a train crash in Portugal.
The incident, which occurred in the town of Soure, involved a high-speed Alfa Pendular train and a maintenance machine.
Over 160 rescue personnel, including firefighters and two medical helicopters responded to the incident.
Of the 37 people that were injured, seven were seriously injured, one of which was the train driver.
According to the mayor of Soure ‘Mario Nunes’, the two that were killed were maintenance workers.
A field hospital has been set up at the scene.
