Investigation underway after a homeless man is found dead in Cork city centre

An investigation is underway by gardaí after a homeless man, aged in his 30s, was found dead in Cork city centre on Thursday morning.

His body was discovered at approximately 8am on Horgan’s Quay.

According to CorkBeo, the man is believed to have been rough sleeping in the area.

A Garda spokesperson has stated that a file is being prepared for the coroner.

He is the eleventh person to die on the streets of Ireland in the last month, with the most recent death before this occurring in Dublin city centre, where the body of a man in his 20s was found in Drury Street car park.
