Dublin’s Gate Theatre has announced that it will not reopen until 2021

Dublin’s Gate Theatre has stated that all of its productions will be postponed until 2021.

It stated that the loss of box office receipts and the loss of at least nine months of programming would make productions unsustainable.

The director of the Gate Theatre ‘Selina Cartmell’ stated that it was just not possible to reopen the theatre with Covid-19 restrictions.

Cartmell added that efforts are being made to work with artists and communities so that when the theatre reopens, there will be new ways to reach new audiences.
