Fleetwood Mac guitarist ‘Peter Green’ has died aged 73

Guitarist, singer, songwriter and co-founder of FleetwoodMac ‘Peter Green’ has died at the age of 73.

A statement on behalf of his family read that “It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep”.

He co-founded Fleetwood Mac in 1967 with guitarist ‘Jeremy Spencer’, bassist ‘John McVie’ and drummer ‘Mick Fleetwood’.

Green performed with the band until 1970.

A concert was set up earlier this year to celebrate the music and legacy of green at the London Palladium.

The artists that performed at the concert included Mick Fleetwood, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith.

Green’s family added that “A further statement will be provided in the coming days”.
