A Doctor at the Mater Hospital has died after contracting Covid-19

Dr Syed Waqqar Ali, a doctor at the Mater Hospital, has died after contracting Covid-19.

Dr Ali has spent the last three months in ICU after falling ill back in April.

The 59-year-old frontline healthcare worker was immediately admitted with Covid-19.

His colleagues remember him as a hardworking and diligent doctor with a humble personality.

The Mater Hospital has extended its sympathies to Dr Ali’s family and loved ones.

Dr Ali is the eight healthcare worker to die of Covid-19 in the state.
