One arrest made by gardaí after a man aged in his 70s was stabbed in Dublin yesterday

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s after being charged with the stabbing of a man in his 70s yesterday in Dublin.

The incident occurred in the River Road area of Ashtown yesterday morning.

The man in his 70s received stab wounds to his leg and received further treatment in hospital.

The injuries that he sustained are described as being non life-threatening.

The man appeared at Blanchardstown District Court at 10:30am this morning.
