A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Mayo

A motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, has died following a collision between his motorbike and a car.

The collision took place on the N83 at Johnstown, Ballyhaunis in Co Mayo at approximately 3:30pm yesterday.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to University Hospital Galway where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigations are ongoing.
