Planning underway for a €15 million sea pool on the River Liffey

Dublin City Council have begun planning a sea pool on the River Liffey that will cost €15 million.

The facility is hoped to be built near the Whitewater Rafting Centre, which is also undergoing planning, located near the Sean O’Casey bridge.

It has been proposed by councillors that there would be a 50-metre heated outdoor swimming pool, a sauna, yoga, cafe and corporate meeting facilities.

Docklands Manager ‘Derek Kelly’ stated that a that an international competition might be held in order to find a company that will design and construct the facility for a lease, with a possible time period of 30 years.
