COVID-19: Travel restrictions are expected to be extended

Proposals to have the Covid-19 travel restrictions extended are to be considered by Cabinet today.

The restrictions are expected to be extended until the 20th of July.

Ministers will also review if public health guidelines are being met in pubs and other premises a week after reopening.

The 14-day quarantine was due to be lifted on Thursday but concerns over a resurgence of the virus in other countries has promoted advice to the government on keeping those restrictions in place for now.
