President Donald Trump claims that 99% of US Covid-19 cases are harmless

Donald Trump has claimed that 99% of the Covid-19 cases in the US are “totally harmless”.

This comes after a recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the US.

A tally by John Hopkins University shows that there was over 43,000 new Covid-19 cases in the space of 24 hours.

The total number of cases in the US is 2,836,764.

The death toll now stands at 129,657.
