The Simpsons has stopped using white actors to voice non-white characters

The Simpsons will no longer be using white actors to voice ethnic minorities following accusations of racism and stereotypes.

Fox Studios stated that “Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters”.

This follows an announcement made by the voice actor ‘Mike Henry’ who voiced Cleveland in ‘Family Guy’ stating that “It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role”.

Last January, Hank Azaria abandoned his role as the Indian Kwik-E-Mart owner ‘Apu’ as it was seen as problematic and conveying racist stereotypes.
