England restricts 2 metre rule as pubs and hotels set to re-open

The social distancing rule will be cut from 2 metres to “1 metre plus” in England from 4th July, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed in a move to help the hospitality sector reopen.

In the changes indoor gatherings involving two separate households will be permitted, including the possibility to meet in pubs and restaurants aslong as social distancing is mantained.

The “1 metre plus” rule is being altered as other measures will be ramped up, such as the use of face coverings and layout changes in businesses.
