After spending 79 days on life support, Mary Sullivan has been discharged from ICU.

Doctors believe the Mary has spent longer on a ventilator than any other Covid-19 patient in Ireland or the UK.

Ms Sullivan was admitted to the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork after suffering a heart attack on the 11th of March and tested positive for Covid-19.

She was on life support in ICU due to respiratory failure.

Ms Sullivan expressed her gratitude towards the staff stating “I feel wonderful. Only for ye, this day would never have happened,”.
