Gardaí make two arrests following altercation in Salthill that was obstructed by 40 youths

Two arrests were made by gardaí on the Salthill promenade, Galway, yesterday evening.

The incident involved approximately 40 youths who were trying to obstruct gardaí from arresting the two youths.

The arrests took place because upon gardaí intervening with the the two youths, who were involved in an altercation, one had become very aggressive and resisted arrest.

They were brought to Salthill Garda Station and released a short time later.
