Two men have been arrested in relation to the armed robbery of a Cork bookies

Gardaí have arrested two men following the armed robbery of a bookies in Cork which occurred two years ago.

The incident took place in September 2018 when three men armed with hammers and a gun entered the Bar One Racing bookmakers in Glanmire.

The robbery was stopped by a staff member and 83-year-old ‘Dennis O’Brien’ who tackled one of the men.

The men left empty handed.

The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are currently being detained at Mayfield Garda Station.
