Three men have been charged with the death of an Irishman in Australia.

Cian English (19), originally from Carlow, was critically injured on Saturday morning when he was found at the base of an apartment building.

Police stated that an alleged robbery took place at the Surfers Paradise apartment building.

Cian attempted to escape the apartment from the intruders but fell from the upper floor balcony.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three men will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
