Gardaí intercept suspected sulky race that was planned near a motorway in Laois

Gardaí have stopped eleven people that were planning to take part in a sulky race in Laois this morning.

Gardaí discovered three vehicles parked at the Midway motorway stop on the M7 while patrolling at 5am this morning.

The group of people could face prosecution for breaching Covid-19 restrictions as they travelled from Cork.

A file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
