Five deaths reported following fire at Russian coronavirus hospital

A fire that broke out at a coronavirus hospital in Saint Petersburg, Russia, has claimed the lives of five people.

Some of the victims were attached to ventilators.

The city’s Vyborg district attorney Pavel Danilov stated that four of the patients died in an intensive care ward.

The death of the fifth victim is being clarified.

A short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire according to the city’s governor ‘Alexander Beglov’.

This is one of the latest incidents in a series of fires in Russian care facilities and clinics in recent days.
