Man charged following the discovery of a firearm and ammunition in Meath

Stephen Gibbons (56) appeared before Dundalk District Court following the discovery of a firearm and ammunition in Gormanston, Co Meath.

He was charged with the possession of 12 rounds of ammunition as well as a sub machine gun back in January.

Gibbons also faces a third charge of attempting to bring a phone and a SIM card into Wheatfield prison.

His next court appearance will be at Cloverhill District Court on the 8th of May.
