Investigation underway by the HSE after the wrong body is given to a family in Mullingar hospital

The HSE are investigating an incident where a family, whose relative died from Covid-19, were presented with the wrong body by the mortuary in Mullingar Regional Hospital.

According to the Irish Mail, the family only became aware of the mistake shorty before the funeral service.

The CEO of the HSE ‘Paul Reid’ apologised to the families concerned.

A full internal review is underway.
