Gardaí report a 20% increase in domestic abuse calls during Covid-19 lockdown

Gardaí have stated that the number of domestic abuse calls during the lockdown have increased by 20%.

Gardaí believe that the increase is due to the fact that people in abusive relationships/families are confined to their homes.

If you are involved in such a situation and are seeking help, please contact gardaí at 999 or 112.
