Bord na Móna to lay off up to 230 workers as a result of the Covid-19 crisis

Up to 230 employees who work for Bord na Móna are to be laid off as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.

The company stated that it made this decision based on “a direct result of the impact of Covid 19 on electricity and horticultural markets”.

Those who have been laid off will receive access to the government’s Covid-19 payment which will be topped up by Bord na Móna to “base wage level”.
