Gardaí have arrested two men following a number of burglaries in Cork

Two men, aged in their 40s and 20s, have been arrested by gardaí after a total of five residences were burgled in Cork.

The burglaries took place between 12:30am and 5am yesterday morning.

One of the properties, owned by a 83-year-old woman, was accessed by the two men as they purported to be members of the gardaí investigating burglaries.

The men are being questioned at Togher Garda Station.
