COVID-19: Reports of discrimination taking place in Guangzhou, China

It is being reported by African community leaders living in the Southern Chinese city ‘Guangzhou’ that the city’s African population is facing discrimination.

Africans are either being forced out onto the streets or are forced into quarantine.

A sign in a McDonald’s restaurant located in the city stated that “We’ve been informed that from now on black people are not allowed to enter the restaurant,”.

They have since apologised for the sign.

Videos are circulating on social media which reveal African residents being evicted from their homes or are being instructed not to leave their homes.
