Man charged for violating Covid-19 restrictions

Denis Constantin (24) is the first person to be charged for violating Covid-19 restrictions.

Mr Constantin, originally from Romania, is facing two charges.

He was stopped by gardaí on two occasions over the Easter weekend with the first being on Good Friday near Bunclody, Co Wexford.

The second occasion was on Easter Monday near New Ross.

He has also been charged with driving without a licence or insurance while disqualified.

He was refused bail and will appear in court again next Tuesday.
