COVID-19: UK’s death toll reaches 11,329

As of 5pm yesterday, 11,329 patients have died from Covid-19 in the UK yesterday according to the Department of Health.

This shows an increase of 717. These figures however, exclude Northern Ireland, so they are expected to rise.

Testing for 290,720 people has revealed that 88,621 have tested positive.

The NHS releases updated figures which include new deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

This is because of the amount of time that it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19.
