Gardaí arrest two people following the seizure of €27,000 and a suspected pipe bomb in Limerick

Gardaí have arrested two people, a man and a woman both in her 40s, following the seizure of €27,000 and a suspected pipe bomb in Limerick.

The €27,000 was seized during a car search in the Castleconnell area where the man was arrested.

Two houses were also searched in the Castleconnell area. During the search of the first house, a suspected pipe bomb and firearm was seized, this lead to the arrest of the woman.

The search of the second house lead to the seizure of €1,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb but no arrests have been made in relation to this seizure.

A technical analysis of the items seized is ongoing.
