Man charged with the alleged assault of a garda in Dublin

A 24-year-old has been charged with the alleged assault of a garda in Inchicore, Co Dublin.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday on the 30th of March when gardaí were responding to an incident on St Vincent’s Street West in Inchicore.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed and lying on the ground while the assailant continued to assault him.

A garda intervened with the assault and received a laceration to his head.

Both the garda and the injured man were hospitalised.

The 24-year-old was charged and appeared in court this morning. Investigations are ongoing.
