Firefighters extinguish 150-acre gorse fire at Killarney National Park

Firefighters have managed to control a gorse fire which burnt 150 acres of land at Killarney National Park.

The fire broke out yesterday evening to which two units from Kenmare fire service and one unit from Killarney fire service responded to.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service stated “Aside from diverting emergency services, it is illegal to burn land at this time and those that do face penalties”.
