Examination underway by gardaí as woman’s body is discovered in Kilkenny city

A technical examination is underway by gardaí in Kilkenny city after a woman’s body was discovered at a house yesterday evening.

The woman was aged in her 70s and from Kilkenny and her death is being described as “unexplained” by gardaí.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s who remains in custody.

A preliminary post-mortem examination may also be performed on the body.
