Spanish government to close all hotels and tourist accommodation amid escalating coronavirus cases

The Spanish government has ordered that all hotels and tourist accommodation are to shut within seven days as Covid-19 cases rise.

This decision comes as Spain’s death rates jump more than a third from 209 to 767 with infections rising to 17,149.

A four-star hotel in Madrid has been turned into a medical care facility.

A lockdown has also been imposed by the Spanish government as well as a ban on leaving your house unnecessarily.

Spain in now the second worst-hit country after Italy.
