Two dead following road crashes in Cork and Clare

Two men have died in two separate road crashes that took place in counties Cork and Clare.

The first incident was a hit and run on the N25 near Carrigtwohill on the Cobh Cross to Belvelley Road approximately at 2am yesterday.

The man, aged in his 30s, is believed to have been walking towards Cork city on the dual carriageway.

It is understood that the man may have been involved in a minor road incident earlier which lead him to proceed on foot towards the city.

The second incident was a single-vehicle car crash that occurred in the Cratloekeel area of Cratloe in Clare.

The sole occupant of the car was an 18-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
