UK to ban large public gatherings in the next week amid Covid-19 outbreak

As early as next weekend, mass gatherings could possibly be banned in the UK as Covid-19 infections escalate.

A government source has revealed that ministers are drawing up plans for the ban.

Ministers are working with the government’s chief scientific adviser on plans to stop various types of public events.

This follows the number of confirmed cases in the UK rising to 798 with 11 deaths.
