Woman dies after being struck by getaway car in Killiney

An investigation is underway by gardaí after a woman died from injuries that she sustained when a getaway car struck her in Killiney.

The woman was identified as 54-year-old Jaqueline McGovern.

She was one of the two women that were struck by a car which mounted the pavement at the junction of Ballinclea and Avondale roads in Killiney.

The three occupants of the car proceeded on foot and fled the scene.

The car was used as a getaway vehicle at an armed robbery at the Centra shop on Barnhill Road in Dalkey.

The other woman, 51, is being treated for non life-threatening injuries. Gardaí are continuing to search for the three raiders.
