Google has urged its Irish-based staff to work from home

Google has urged its Irish workforce of 8,000 people to work from home if possible as Covid-19 infections are on the rise.

This will come into effect on Thursday until indefinitely.

The company’s offices will remain open however.

Some of the staff working in Eastpoint, Sandyford and its west Dublin data centre will still have to come in as their workflow cannot be done from outside the office.
