Pope Francis has tested negative for the coronavirus after falling ill earlier this week.

There were fears that he may have been infected after he cancelled his Lent retreat due to a cold.

Fears were also raised as coronavirus cases are on the rise in Italy.

The Italian newspaper ‘Il Messaggero’ confirmed that he tested negative for the coronavirus.
