Warning remains in place as Storm Ciara to bring 130km/h gusts


A Status Orange wind warning is in effect for seven counties along the Atlantic coast, as Storm Ciara continues to bring gusts of up to 130km/h.

The warning came into effect at 6am for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry and will remain in place until 8pm.

A Status Yellow wind warning remains in effect for the rest of the country, with Met Éireann forecasting strong gusts of up to 110km/h.

A Status Yellow Snow/Ice warning is also valid for the entire country until just before midnight tomorrow, with widespread wintry showers set to bring some snow.
