A new strain of virus that is believed to be behind the mystery pneumonia outbreak in China has been linked to the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) virus.

A total of 59 people have been struck by the virus so far.

It was determined by lead scientist Xu Jianguo that a new type of coronavirus was behind the outbreak.
