Storm Brendan leaves over twenty-thousand without powers and numerous services cancelled


Wind gusts of to 119km/h have been recorded in Co Cork with the entire country now under a Status Orange wind warning as Storm Brendan moves across Ireland.

ESB Networks has said around 21,000 homes and businesses are without power as a result of Storm Brendan, with the southwest the worst affected area.

A number of Aer Lingus flights to and from Shannon Airport have also been cancelled.
