US tariffs hit Irish butter and liqueurs

The new US tariffs will be taking effect on goods including on Irish butter, pork, cheese and liqueurs. Baileys and Kerrygold will also be impacted.

This is a result of a 25% tariff being imposed on hundreds of European products by the US trade Representatives Office in retaliation for the EU failing to end subsidies for Airbus .

A parallel process is being conducted by the EU who are pushing for tariffs of $10 billion on American goods.

This is to be decided next year by the WTO.
