PSNI will not staff the border according to Chief Constable

Simon Byrne ( Northern Ireland Chief Constable) has told Boris Johnson that the PSNI will not be able to staff border security.

This due to the lack of numbers in the force that will be able to police the 300 plus crossing made at the border each day. Mr.

Byrne stated “It was a very open conversation, trying to tell him we saw that it was nigh-on impossible to try and police over 300 crossings with the amount of police officers we had”.
